Deborah Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 2019 to improve the lives of children with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities. The foundation delivers support in health, education, and policy advocacy, working toward inclusive development for children with special needs in Ethiopia.

Open Positions

1. Assistant Teacher (15 Positions)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Needs Education, or related field
• 0 years of experience (Fresh Graduates Encouraged)
• Specialization in Special Needs Education is advantageous

Skills & Attributes:

• Strong communication and teamwork
• Patience, adaptability, and resilience
• Understanding of inclusive teaching methodologies
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

2. Subject Teachers (7 Positions)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject areas (e.g. Math, Science, English)
• 0 years of experience
• Experience with special needs students is a plus

Key Skills:

• Strong subject knowledge and pedagogy
• Patience, creativity, and classroom management
• Communication and instructional flexibility
• Knowledge of inclusive and adaptive education techniques

3. Main Teachers (14 Positions)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Needs Education, or Social Sciences
• Minimum 1 year of teaching experience
• Background in special needs education is an advantage

Desired Skills:

• Experience working with children with disabilities
• Strong problem-solving and planning abilities
• Ability to manage classroom activities effectively
• Compassion, dedication, and cultural sensitivity
