Position Summary: Shift Technician/Electrician
The Shift Technician/Electrician is responsible for conducting routine and emergency electrical repairs, performing technical maintenance, monitoring utilities, and ensuring safety standards across the hotel’s facilities. This role plays a critical part in supporting the daily operations and maintaining guest satisfaction through proactive service and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs in guest rooms, public areas, and service facilities
- Maintain, monitor, and repair high and low voltage systems, motor controls, and electronic components
- Take accurate utility readings (electricity, LPG, diesel) and report deviations to the senior shift technician
- Monitor and operate building systems, ensuring they function according to safety and quality standards
- Ensure proper functioning of fire, life, and safety systems during shifts
- Report any critical observations and implement corrective actions as needed
- Participate in shift briefings and ensure clear communication of operational issues
- Suggest energy-saving improvements and access-friendly system upgrades
- Comply with all safety regulations and local electrical codes
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education:
- Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Electrical Engineering or related fields
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as an electrician in a hotel or large complex
- Practical experience with high and low voltage systems, motor controls, and electronics
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in operating power tools, multimeters, and control panels
- Strong knowledge of hotel engineering operations and maintenance routines
- Certification in electrical safety, equipment usage, and system troubleshooting is a plus
Behavioral Competencies:
- Detail-oriented with strong technical problem-solving skills
- Capable of working under pressure and during shift rotations
- Team player with good communication and organizational skills
