VisionFund Micro Finance Institution (S.C) provides financial services to the productive poor in rural and urban areas of Ethiopia, operating in four regional states. The institution is seeking a qualified and dynamic Training & Development Officer to support its staff learning and capacity-building initiatives. The role focuses on designing, delivering, and evaluating adult learning programs for field and branch staff, particularly in microfinance operations.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
- BA Degree in HR Management, Management, Human Resources & Organizational Development, Public Administration, or a related field
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 3 years progressive experience in training and development, preferably in a microfinance institution, bank, financial services, or NGO with microfinance operations
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Strong understanding of human resources concepts, practices, systems, and procedures
- Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to interact with diverse stakeholders
- Commitment to teamwork and gender equality
- Basic computer literacy
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong facilitation, presentation, and public speaking skills, with the ability to engage adult learners
- Knowledge of training evaluation methods, learning management systems (LMS), or e-learning tools is an advantage
- Experience in delivering training to field/branch staff in microcredit, group lending, client assessment, or financial inclusion programs is highly desirable
- Proven ability to design and deliver adult learning programs in resource-constrained environments
- Fluency in English (additional local languages are an asset)
- High ethical standards, integrity, and commitment to client-centered financial inclusion
