About the United Nations Office to the African Union
The United Nations Office to the African Union (UNOAU) was established through United Nations General Assembly Resolution 64/288 on July 1, 2010.
UNOAU works to strengthen the partnership between the United Nations and the African Union in the areas of peace and security, supporting joint initiatives and coordination between the two organizations.

Intern – Public Information (Digital Communications)
Educational Requirements
At the time of application, candidates must meet one of the following conditions:
- Be enrolled in a graduate program (Master’s degree or equivalent, or higher), or
- Be in the final academic year of a Bachelor’s degree, or
- Have already completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree
Field of Study
The academic field must be closely related to the internship. Relevant fields include:

- Media Studies
- Public Relations
- Journalism
- International Relations
- Political Science
- Gender Studies
- Peace and Security Studies
- Other related disciplines
Technical Skills
Applicants should have knowledge of:
Office Software
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft PowerPoint
Digital Communication Tools
- Social media platforms
- Canva
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Video editing software
Experience with digital content creation, communication campaigns, or social media management is an advantage.
Interest in the United Nations
Candidates should demonstrate:
- Strong interest in the work of the United Nations
- Commitment to the values and principles of the UN Charter
Intercultural Skills
