Position: Loan Officer
Are you passionate about community impact, financial inclusion, and field-based customer service? Digaf Microcredit is looking for motivated Loan Officers to grow its loan portfolio, support client acquisition, and ensure effective loan servicing across Asella and Harar.
Key Responsibilities
1. Loan Promotion & Client Onboarding
- Promote payday and micro-loan products
- Engage potential clients through field outreach
- Assist in onboarding new borrowers
2. Customer Verification & Field Visits
- Conduct in-person client assessments and background checks
- Ensure accuracy of borrower information
3. Loan Application Processing
- Collect and review loan documentation
- Ensure timely processing and disbursement
4. Loan Repayment Monitoring & Collection
- Track repayment schedules and monitor overdue accounts
- Maintain strong follow-up systems
5. Delinquency Management
- Investigate repayment delays and propose solutions
- Support recovery strategies and customer counseling
6. Customer Retention
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships
- Provide support and financial guidance to repeat clients
7. Reporting & Record Management
- Maintain organized loan records
- Prepare and submit regular performance reports
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in business, finance, marketing, or related field
- 0+ years of experience – fresh graduates encouraged to apply
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Fieldwork readiness and confidence in customer engagement
- Sales-oriented mindset with a focus on client service
- Integrity, confidentiality, and data compliance awareness
- Problem-solving ability and initiative in handling loan issues
