Salary: 14,950 ETB (plus 1,500 ETB transport and 1,000 ETB communication allowance)

About ENAB
The Ethiopian National Association of the Blind (ENAB) is Ethiopia’s first organization established to promote the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities, particularly those with visual impairments. For over 65 years, ENAB has championed disability rights through partnerships, advocacy, and inclusive program delivery. The association works closely with local and international organizations to enhance the wellbeing and independence of persons with visual impairments across Ethiopia.
Position Summary: Junior Project Officer (Assistant) – Inclusive Education
ENAB is seeking a committed and detail-oriented Junior Project Officer to assist the Inclusive Education Coordinator, who is visually impaired. This role provides critical administrative and communication support to ensure the success of inclusive education initiatives and enhance operational effectiveness within ENAB.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Read aloud printed and digital materials (reports, academic texts, letters, emails) to the coordinator
- Draft and type documents, reports, meeting minutes, and official correspondence as directed
- Manage email communications and assist with digital file organization
- Accompany the Coordinator to meetings, workshops, and field visits; provide reading and writing assistance
- Assist in preparing PowerPoint presentations and training materials
- Print, scan, and organize documents as needed
- Maintain strict confidentiality and accuracy across all duties
- Foster respectful and collaborative relationships with the Coordinator and other ENAB staff
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Needs Education, Social Work, Secretariat Science, ICT, Statistics, Economics, or a related field
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
- Experience working with persons with disabilities is a plus
Skills and Competencies
- Proficient in Amharic and English, both written and verbal
- Excellent typing, note-taking, and written communication skills
- Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, and internet browsing
- Highly organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple tasks under deadlines
- Patient, empathetic, trustworthy, and respectful
- Willingness to support and accompany a visually impaired professional in external engagements
- Strong sensitivity to issues of disability inclusion and accessibility
Working Conditions
- Based in the ENAB office in Addis Ababa
- Occasional travel for field visits
- May require weekend or evening hours based on project activities
