Founded by Mr. Belete Beyene, Hilina Enriched Foods aims to address malnutrition in Ethiopia through innovative food processing solutions. Established in 1998, the company processes locally available grains and enriches flours to prevent malnutrition. It also produces RUTF products inspired by global best practices, including “Plumpy Nut,” in partnership with UNICEF initiatives.
Position: Quality Supervisor
Education: BSc in Food Science, Food Processing Engineering, Food Technology, Applied Chemistry, Applied Biology, or related fields
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct physical inspections of materials, processes, and production areas
- Verify cleanliness of trucks during reception and storage conditions of raw materials and packing materials
- Check proper placement of ingredients, hygiene facilities, and production room cleanliness
- Monitor weighing, mixing, and temperature compliance during production
- Inspect rodent baits, record activity, and report to Deputy Quality Head
- Calibrate mass balances and take corrective actions if deviations occur
- Collect, code, and send representative samples of finished products, raw materials, and inputs to the lab
- Ensure personnel follow quality-conscious procedures in all processing operations
- Maintain the Food Safety Management System daily
- Provide quality awareness training to production staff and relevant employees
- Participate in establishing chemical, physical, and toxicological specifications for raw materials and processing parameters
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international environmental and safety standards
- Report any food safety management issues to immediate supervisors and quality personnel
- Perform any other related tasks as required
Preferred Knowledge: HACCP and ISO 22000
