1. Senior Accountant
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Accounting & Finance, Business Administration, or a related field with a strong accounting focus.
- Master’s Degree (MBA or MSc) in Accounting or Finance is an advantage but not mandatory.
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Ability to supervise finance staff, assign responsibilities, review performance, and coach employees.
- High standards of accuracy, accountability, and confidentiality.
- Understanding of BOQs, variation orders, retention money, contract accounting, and revenue recognition.
- Experience with subcontractor payments and certifications.
- Experience providing financial support to project managers and engineers.
- Knowledge and experience in tax administration.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, GAAP, and IFRS.
- Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws, regulations, and tax documentation.
- Understanding of accounting complexities related to:
- LC settlements
- Customs duties
- Bonded warehouse duty deferrals
- Foreign exchange transactions
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure accurate recording of transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to applicable local requirements.
- Lead and maintain the organization’s Peachtree (Sage 50) accounting system.
- Customize charts of accounts, modules, and reporting structures for construction and engineering operations.
- Manage tax, revenue, and customs compliance.
- Prepare and file income tax, VAT, and withholding tax returns in accordance with Ethiopian Revenue & Customs Authority requirements.
- Liaise with ERCA and Customs regarding audits, clarifications, and compliance matters.
- Interpret changes in tax and customs regulations and apply them to business operations.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors.
- Provide supporting schedules, documentation, and explanations during audits and reviews.
- Implement audit recommendations to strengthen financial processes.
- Prepare financial forecasts.
- Follow up and organize payments and collections.
- Develop the financial management framework.
- Prepare financial status reports for management.

2. Finance Manager
Educational Requirements
- MA or BA Degree from a recognized university in:
- Accounting
- Finance
- Business Administration
- A related field
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in financial management and budgeting, with a strong accounting focus.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong leadership and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge and experience in tax administration.
- Proficiency in GAAP and IFRS.
- Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws, regulations, and tax documentation.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in a construction service or supply company is a strong advantage.
- Understanding of accounting complexities related to:
- LC settlements
- Customs duties
- Bonded warehouse duty deferrals
- Foreign exchange transactions
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and control the company’s general accounting, costing, and budgeting functions.
- Establish, operate, monitor, and evaluate financial processes for accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Prepare financial reports and cost analyses to support management decision-making.
- Oversee general accounting records, costing, budgeting, and expenditure control systems.
- Advise management on financial operations, budget utilization, and cost-control measures.
- Report to the General Manager on budgeting, accounting, costing, and financial performance.
- Ensure adequate cash flow to meet financial obligations and commitments.
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of financial statements and management reports.
- Supervise preparation of the annual budget and monitor performance against budget, highlighting variances.
- Lead and supervise the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Approve cheques, disbursements, and other financial documents within delegated authority.
- Coordinate regular external audits of the company’s financial operations.
- Ensure proper drafting, negotiation, and management of contractual agreements with clients and vendors.
- Prepare and manage the Finance Department’s annual budget.
- Provide financial information and support to the Human Capital Department when required.
- Supervise, guide, and develop finance department staff.
- Strengthen the Finance Department to ensure effective and efficient financial operations.
- Perform other related duties assigned by management.
