POSITION SUMMARY
The Translator/Press Officer will handle translation of media content, press releases, and human rights materials between multiple languages (Amharic ↔ Tigrigna, Amharic ↔ Somali, Afan Oromo & Amharic ↔ English). The role also involves media engagement, preparing press materials, organizing interviews and events, and monitoring media coverage related to the Commission’s work.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Education: MA/BA Degree in Language Studies, Journalism, Communication, Public Relations, International Studies, Political Science, or other related fields.
- Experience: Minimum 4 years relevant experience for BA holders, 2 years for MA holders.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in required local and working languages.
- Strong media relations and communication skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle sensitive information.
