Position: Driver I
Are you an experienced driver with strong mechanical knowledge and a commitment to safety? VisionFund Micro-Finance is seeking a Driver I to join the North West Regional Office team based in Ambo.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Security
- Drive vehicles to safely transport personnel and goods
- Conduct security and safety checks (tires, brakes, horn, lights, etc.) prior to operation
- Place protection padding around transported goods to prevent damage
Operations
- Ensure passengers and property are not exposed to risks
- Maintain logs on mileage, fuel usage, and trip records
- Ensure the security of vehicle tools and accessories
- Report any accidents or incidents within 24 hours
Maintenance
- Perform minor mechanical tasks such as changing tires, bulbs, spark plugs, and belts
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the assigned vehicle
- Monitor scheduled servicing and coordinate maintenance tasks
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Completed Grade 10
- License: Valid 3rd Grade Driver’s License
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a relevant driving role
- Skills:
- Basic knowledge of automobile mechanics
- Understanding of road safety regulations
- Ability to handle minor mechanical repairs
- Strong interpersonal communication
