The historical background of Commercial Bank of Ethiopia dates back to the establishment of the State Bank of Ethiopia in 1942.
CBE was legally established as a share company in 1963 and has since been playing a significant role in the economic development of the country.
Position 1: Pastry Supervisor
Required Educational Qualification and Work Experience
- Diploma / Level IV in Food Preparation, Pastry, Bakery, or other related fields
- 7 years of relevant experience, of which at least 2 years as a Pastry Chef
Salary: As per the Bank’s salary scale
Place of Work: Head Office
Position 2: SAC Secretariat and Sharia Research Expert
Required Educational Qualification and Work Experience
Option 1
- Master’s Degree in Islamic Banking and Finance, Sharia Jurisprudence, Accounting, Economics, Management, or other related fields
OR
Option 2
- B.A Degree in Islamic Banking and Finance, Sharia Jurisprudence, Islamic Finance, Islamic Economics and Finance, Economics, Accounting, Management, or other related fields
- 6/8 years of related work experience
Additional Requirements
- Professional certifications such as CSAA, CIFE, or equivalent are favored
- Proficiency in English and Arabic, in addition to local language(s), is required
Salary: As per the Bank’s salary scale

Important Conditions
- Candidates who successfully complete the recruitment process must authenticate their academic documents from the concerned higher institution within six months after joining the Bank.
- If misconduct is observed regarding submitted academic credentials, graduation year, exam cheating, or other illegal acts during recruitment, the Bank has the right to disqualify the applicant even after employment.
- Priority shall be given as per the Bank’s HR procedure.
