About Tokyo Institute of Technology MEXT Scholarship 2026
Applications are invited for the Tokyo Institute of Technology MEXT Scholarship 2026 in Japan. This fully funded Japanese Government scholarship is offered by Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT).
The scholarship is available for international students who wish to pursue a Master’s or PhD degree in Japan. There is no requirement for IELTS or TOEFL if applicants can provide an English Proficiency Certificate from their previous institution.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a citizen of a country that has diplomatic relations with Japan
- Must demonstrate excellent academic performance
- Must have been born on or after April 2, 1987
- Must have completed 16 years of education (or expected to complete before enrollment)
- Must be physically and mentally fit to study in Japan
- Must apply in a field related to previous academic background
- Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree for Master’s application
- Must hold a Master’s Degree for PhD application
- English Proficiency Certificate from previous university is acceptable (IELTS/TOEFL not mandatory if medium of instruction was English)
