Google PhD Fellowship Scholarship Details
The fellowship provides financial support to exceptional PhD students pursuing research in areas relevant to computer science and related disciplines.

Google PhD Fellowship Program 2026 Requirements
General Eligibility Requirements (All Regions)
- Must remain enrolled full-time in the PhD program during the fellowship period.
- Google employees and their immediate family members are not eligible.
- Students already supported by a comparable industry award are not eligible (government or non-profit funding is exempt).
- Previous PhD Fellowship awardees are not eligible to reapply.
Region-Specific Eligibility Requirements
Africa, India, Latin America & Southeast Asia
- Incoming or early-stage PhD students may be nominated.
- Award is contingent upon enrollment in a full-time PhD program in computer science (or related field) within the award year.
- Fellowship does not guarantee admission into a PhD program.
Australia & New Zealand
- Early-stage students in first or second year of PhD are eligible.
Canada & United States
- Students must have completed graduate coursework by the academic award year when the fellowship begins.
East Asia
- Students must have completed most graduate coursework and have sufficient research time remaining.
Europe & Middle East
- Students enrolled at any stage of their PhD are eligible.
Google Fellowship Program Benefits
Depending on the country of study, fellows may receive:
- Up to 3-year Fellowship
- Up to $85,000 (varies by country)
- Coverage for stipend and research-related expenses

Required Documents
Applicants must submit the following documents (in English):
- Resume (with links to website/publications if available)
- Academic transcripts (from Bachelor’s degree to present)

- 350-word essay addressing:
