Google PhD Fellowship Scholarship Details

General Eligibility Requirements (All Regions)
- Must remain enrolled full-time in the PhD program during the fellowship period.
- Google employees and their immediate family members are not eligible.
- Students already supported by a comparable industry award are not eligible (government or non-profit funding is exempt).
- Previous PhD Fellowship awardees are not eligible to reapply.
Region-Specific Eligibility Requirements
Africa, India, Latin America & Southeast Asia
- Incoming or early-stage PhD students may be nominated.
- Award is contingent upon enrollment in a full-time PhD program in computer science (or related field) within the award year.
- Fellowship does not guarantee admission into a PhD program.
Australia & New Zealand
- Early-stage students in first or second year of PhD are eligible.
Canada & United States
- Students must have completed graduate coursework by the academic award year when the fellowship begins.
East Asia
- Students must have completed most graduate coursework and have sufficient research time remaining.
Europe & Middle East
- Students enrolled at any stage of their PhD are eligible.
Google Fellowship Program Benefits
Depending on the country of study, fellows may receive:

Required Documents
Applicants must submit the following documents (in English):
