About Timret Lehiwot Ethiopia
Timret Lehiwot Ethiopia (TLHE) is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization established in 2004 and re-registered under the new CSO legislation in 2019 as an Ethiopian Resident Charity. TLHE has implemented a range of impactful community-based development projects across Ethiopia, focusing on positive change among marginalized populations. Our mission is to create sustainable and durable transformation through inclusive, rights-based programs.
Position: HR/Personnel Intern
This internship provides an opportunity for a motivated individual to gain practical human resources experience within a mission-driven NGO. Interns will assist with HR operations, develop professional skills, and support core organizational processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize HR records and personnel files
- Support recruitment processes: job postings, shortlisting, scheduling interviews
- Assist with onboarding and orientation for new staff
- Track staff attendance, leave, and contract timelines
- Draft HR documents including letters, memos, and internal communications
- Support staff wellness and employee engagement initiatives
- Update HR databases and digital records
- Provide general administrative and HR support as needed
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree (or active enrollment) in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality
- Demonstrated interest in HR, personnel administration, or organizational development
