Swiss Church Aid (HEKS/EPER) is the aid organization of the Protestant Churches of Switzerland, headquartered in Zurich. The organization works to promote a more just and humane world by supporting communities to overcome economic, social, and humanitarian challenges, enabling them to live with dignity and independence both in Switzerland and internationally.
In Ethiopia, HEKS/EPER focuses on development, humanitarian support, and capacity-building initiatives through its country office in Addis Ababa.
POSITION: INTERN – ADMINISTRATION & COORDINATION SUPPORT
This internship is designed for fresh graduates or early-career professionals interested in administration, coordination, and communications within an international NGO environment. The role offers hands-on experience in office management, organizational coordination, and communication support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
- Assist in daily office administration and documentation
- Support filing systems, records management, and data entry
- Assist in scheduling meetings and managing office logistics
2. COORDINATION SUPPORT
- Support coordination of internal and external meetings
- Assist communication between teams and stakeholders
- Follow up on administrative tasks and deadlines
3. COMMUNICATION SUPPORT
- Assist in preparing internal communications and reports
- Support drafting and editing documents in English and Amharic
- Contribute to basic design and communication materials when needed
4. GENERAL OFFICE SUPPORT
- Provide support to country office activities as required
- Assist in maintaining smooth day-to-day operations
- Support other assigned tasks from supervisors
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Bachelor’s degree (or final-year student) in Administration, Communications, Social Sciences, or related fields
- Open to fresh graduates or candidates with up to 3 years of experience
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Amharic
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of Canva or design tools is an advantage
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- High integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
