Position: Maintenance Worker
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Amharic.
- Polytechnic School graduates with TVET qualifications are preferred.
- Previous experience in maintenance and repair work is advantageous.
- Good technical skills and practical problem-solving abilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintenance and Repair
- Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and building systems.
- Perform maintenance work related to:
- Roofing and flooring/ground works
- Electrical systems
- Plumbing systems (water and sewerage)
- Painting and general building maintenance
Preventive Maintenance
- Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance to minimize breakdowns and downtime.
- Inspect equipment and facilities regularly to ensure proper operation.
Troubleshooting and Repairs
- Diagnose mechanical and technical issues.
- Repair machines, equipment, and structures when necessary.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from various hospital departments.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
- Conduct safety inspections using approved checklists.
- Maintain a safe and functional working environment.
Equipment Care
- Keep machines, equipment, tools, and maintenance areas clean and organized.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of maintenance tools and materials.
