About NEBE
The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) is an independent body established under Article 102 of the FDRE Constitution. Since its inception, NEBE has conducted five national elections, two local elections, and six referendums, ensuring the integrity of Ethiopia’s democratic processes.
Reformed under Proclamation No. 1133/2019, NEBE continues to strengthen electoral operations, civic engagement, and institutional capacity. NEBE is now hiring qualified professionals to join its team in Addis Ababa.
Available Positions
1. Program Assistant
- Education: BA/MA in Management, Public Administration, Secretarial Science, Law, Political Science, or related fields.
- Experience: 3 years (BA) or 0 years (MA).
- Skills: Event management, travel coordination, proficiency in Amharic & English, computer literacy (knowledge of other local languages is an advantage).
- Duty Station: Addis Ababa
2. Cyber Security Expert
- Education: BSc in CS, CE, SE, or related fields.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years.
- Skills: Network security, cryptography, malware analysis, cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP), scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Preferred: Threat intelligence platforms, DevSecOps, red/blue teaming experience.
- Duty Station: Addis Ababa
3. DevOps Engineer
- Education: BSc in CS, CE, SE, or related fields.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years.
- Skills: AWS/GCP/Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Prometheus, Grafana.
- Preferred: GitOps, service mesh, multi-cloud deployments.
- Duty Station: Addis Ababa
4. Head, Civic and Voter Education Department
- Education: MA/MSc or PhD in Social Work, Sociology, Civics Education, Law, Political Science, Development Studies, or related fields.
- Experience: 10 years (MA), 8 years (PhD), including 4 years in leadership.
- Skills: Civic education, voter rights, electoral processes, team leadership, communication, fluency in Amharic & English.
- Duty Station: Addis Ababa
5. Deputy Head, General Service Management Department
- Education: PhD or Master’s in Business Administration, Public Administration, Logistics, Facilities Management, Civil Engineering, or related fields.
- Experience: 9 years (Master’s), 7 years (PhD), with 4 years in leadership.
- Skills: Facilities/logistics management, procurement, staff supervision, contract management, decision-making, stakeholder coordination.
- Duty Station: Addis Ababa
6. Election Operations Advisor to the Chairperson
- Education: MA or PhD in Management, Economics, Project Management, Business/Public Administration, or related fields.
- Experience: 9 years (Master’s) or 7 years (PhD), including 4 years in leadership.
- Skills: Strategic planning, operational logistics, budget management, conflict resolution, familiarity with electoral processes, ethical leadership.
- Duty Station: Addis Ababa
