Position: Market System and MMERL Advisor
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) frameworks.
- Strengthen market systems development (MSD) strategies, ensuring integration with program objectives.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Provide evidence-based recommendations to improve program quality and performance.
- Support adaptive management and data-driven decision-making.
- Build capacity of program teams on MERL tools and practices.
- Coordinate with government, private sector, and civil society partners for system-level impact.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Economics, International Development, Statistics, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in Market Systems Development, MERL, or Knowledge Management.
- Advanced understanding of research methodologies, data visualization tools, and impact measurement.
- Experience managing large-scale data collection and analysis.
- Proven skills in strategic planning, project management, and data-driven program evaluation.
Success Factors
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English and Amharic (knowledge of additional local languages is a plus).
- Strong analytical, presentation, and report-writing abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and data analysis platforms.
- Flexibility, resilience, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
