Position: Junior Accountant
The Junior Accountant will play a key role in supporting the finance team by ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with accounting standards, and efficient financial operations. This position offers excellent opportunities for growth in the construction and trading sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, bank reconciliations, and ledger updates.
- Prepare and process invoices, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Assist in compiling and analyzing project-based financial reports.
- Track project budgets, monitor expenses, and report variances.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closings.
- Conduct inventory audits for trading operations and resolve discrepancies.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate cost tracking.
- Prepare audit documentation and coordinate with auditors.
- Stay updated on tax regulations and assist with compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in accounting (construction/trading industry preferred).
- Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
- Strong MS Excel skills (financial reporting and spreadsheets).
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and problem-solving mindset.
- Knowledge of project cost accounting and inventory management.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in construction and/or trading industries.
- Knowledge of Ethiopian tax compliance and financial laws.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Teamwork and effective communication skills.
