About Stichting Wageningen Research Ethiopia
Stichting Wageningen Research (SWR) Ethiopia is an international NGO registered with the FDRE Agency for Civil Society Organizations since March 2021. SWR promotes resilient, inclusive, and sustainable food systems across Ethiopia.
Through the Ethiopia Seed Partnership (ESP) project, SWR Ethiopia is committed to empowering fresh graduates in agriculture-related fields by equipping them with practical, field-based experience and linking them to employment opportunities within Ethiopia’s seed sector.
Position Summary
SWR Ethiopia is seeking motivated and qualified fresh graduates for its internship program at various local and international seed companies and agricultural research institutions. Interns will contribute to seed system innovation while gaining hands-on experience to launch their professional careers.

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Educational Background:
- Recent graduates (2023–2025) in:
- Horticulture
- Plant Science
- Agribusiness
- Agricultural Economics
- Rural Development
- Marketing
- Crop Production
- Graduates from Agricultural TVETs with Level IV CoC certification
- Recent graduates (2023–2025) in:
- Additional Requirements:
- Strong interest in Ethiopia’s seed sector
- A confirmation letter from a host organization (seed company or agricultural research center) willing to accept them for 3–6 months
- Full-time availability during internship
- No prior participation in any similar internship program
- Commitment to professional growth and practical learning
Roles & Responsibilities
Interns will:
- Participate in pre-assignment and on-the-job training sessions
- Support day-to-day operations and projects at host organizations
- Apply academic knowledge to real-world agricultural and seed systems
- Gain exposure to Ethiopia’s private and public seed value chain
- Expand their professional networks across regional agricultural ecosystems
