Position Summary: Core Network Engineer
Huawei is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Core Network Engineer to support its expanding telecom projects across Ethiopia. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring seamless core network operation, resolving customer issues, and delivering mission-critical upgrades.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to resolve live network issues
- Handle customer and third-party service requirements
- Execute maintenance tasks: network risk mitigation, rectifications, and upgrades
- Lead and deliver Core Network project activities
- Facilitate clear communication and relationship-building with customers
- Ensure compliance with Huawei quality standards and service protocols
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Electronics, Computer Science, or related fields
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience as a Core Network Engineer
- Strong command of networking protocols: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPNs
- Deep knowledge of network security standards, firewalls, and diagnostic tools
- Excellent problem-solving, analysis, and incident response capabilities
Soft Skills & Competencies
- Fluency in English
- Strong communication and customer engagement skills
- Ability to manage stress and work collaboratively in high-pressure environments
- Adaptable, proactive, and eager to learn
