Position: HR Officer – Human Resources & Administration
Are you an experienced HR professional ready to support people-focused initiatives in an international setting? The British Embassy in Addis Ababa is seeking a highly capable HR Officer to enhance human resource management practices, drive recruitment and induction processes, and maintain effective HR data management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage recruitment activities, onboarding programs, and staff inductions
- Support HR data management and reporting processes
- Implement and improve people practices, ensuring compliance with embassy standards
- Assist with staff welfare initiatives and policy roll-outs
- Contribute to HR strategy discussions and deliver organizational improvements
- Foster an inclusive and high-performing working environment
What You Need to Succeed:
- University Degree (or equivalent) in Human Resource Management, Business Management, Psychology, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years professional HR experience, preferably within an international organization or embassy
- Strong understanding of HR policies, employment law, and recruitment best practices
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
Desirable Skills:
- Prior experience in People or Corporate roles
- Proficiency in HR information systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated resilience, adaptability, and attention to detail
