GIZ Ethiopia is currently inviting recent graduates to apply for exciting internship opportunities under its African Union and Sustainable Economic Growth programs.
Available Positions
Position 1: Intern – Portfolio Management and Communication (GIZ African Union)
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations, Political Science, Communications, African Studies, or a related field.
- Applicants must have graduated within the last six months.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong interest in African Union policies and international development.
- Excellent command of English; knowledge of additional AU working languages is an advantage.
- Strong research, analytical, and information synthesis skills.
- Excellent writing and editing abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Place of Work

Position 2: Knowledge Management Intern
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Communication, Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E), Political Science, Natural Resource Management, Gender Studies, Digitalization, Public Administration, or related fields.
- Only recent graduates are eligible to apply.
Experience
- No prior work experience required.
- Previous internship experience in M&E, communication, digital knowledge management, or gender-related work is advantageous.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong interest in M&E, knowledge management, communication, gender equality, and digital tools.
- Ability to analyze information and summarize key findings effectively.
- Good writing, editing, and content development skills.
- Basic design and layout skills using Canva or Adobe tools are advantageous.
- Strong organizational and computer skills.
- Familiarity with social media content creation and digital communication tools is an advantage.
