The Higher Tier Cooking Component (HTCC) project, co-implemented with SNV and funded by the Netherlands Development Agency (RVO), aims to strengthen Ethiopia’s clean cooking sector while supporting youth employment and vocational training.
POSITION: INTERN – HTCC PROJECT
This internship is ideal for recent graduates with a background in Psychology, Social Work, or related Social Sciences, looking to gain hands-on experience in vocational training, youth empowerment, and development program implementation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Trainee Orientation & Employment Support
- Assist with trainee orientation and department selection
- Support graduate placement into inclusive employment programs (IEPP)
- Maintain communication with employers and support entry-level transition
Social Cohesion & Psychosocial Support
- Help implement psychosocial support and referral services
- Assist with trauma-informed activities for refugees, IDPs, and host communities
- Record internship participation and impact data
Capacity Building & TVET Events
- Organize workshops, job fairs, and training activities
- Facilitate enterprise visits and career guidance sessions
Employment & Entrepreneurship Coaching
- Guide graduates on job applications, interviews, and CV development
- Promote entrepreneurship awareness and micro-business development
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Assist in M&E activities and updating of trainee databases
- Support preparation of activity and impact reports
Administrative & Coordination Support
- Provide logistical and finance-related coordination
- Take meeting minutes and assist with procurement tasks
- Support gender mainstreaming and inclusion programs
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related Social Science field
Core Competencies:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Interest in youth development and vocational guidance
- Familiarity with MS Office and digital reporting tools
- Commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and gender equality
- Fluency in English and local languages (specific to duty station)
