As part of our expanding educational efforts in Ethiopia, we are recruiting Special Needs Education Teachers to serve vulnerable children in Benishangul Gumuz Region.
Position: Special Needs Education Teachers
Qualifications:
- B.Ed. in Special Needs Education, Educational Psychology, or Applied Psychology for Secondary Schools (preferred)
- BE degree in any subject with specialized coursework in Special Needs Education
- Diploma in Special Needs Education or Natural/Social Sciences (for Primary level)
- Fresh graduates encouraged to apply – no prior experience required
- Prior teaching experience and career growth will be considered in salary determination

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with parents, communities, and schools to foster inclusive education for children with disabilities
- Support and coach teachers, especially non-certified or incentive teachers, in adapting instructional strategies
- Help in modifying lesson plans, reviewing learning materials, and designing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Use diverse instructional methods: visual aids, hands-on activities, and adaptive tools
- Conduct student evaluations and document learning progress
- Provide emotional and behavioral support to students
- Promote behavior management techniques for inclusive classrooms
- Advocate for child protection and support referral pathways with local partners
- Engage families to reinforce learning at home
- Raise awareness among school communities about special needs education and inclusive practices
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Knowledge of child protection principles and referral systems
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work with children with diverse needs
- Experience in education, counseling, or psychosocial support is an asset
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
