EFDA General Trading PLC is a private business company engaged in the importation and distribution of water-related products, agricultural equipment, educational laboratory materials, and scientific equipment. The company is currently seeking a qualified and motivated female candidate for the position of Junior Accountant.
Position: Junior Accountant
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Experience
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- No prior work experience is required.
Technical Requirements
- Knowledge of Peachtree Accounting Software.
- Excellent computer proficiency.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and financial procedures.
Gender Requirement
- Female applicants only.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations
- Check the availability of budget before processing payment requests.
- Prepare and process bank payment transactions.
- Prepare cheque payment vouchers and cheques for approved payments.
- Submit bank instruction letters and follow up on their execution.
Tax Administration
- Calculate and deduct withholding taxes in compliance with tax regulations.
- Prepare and process company tax payments accurately and on time.
Cash Management
- Handle petty cash transactions in compliance with internal controls.
- Ensure daily deposits of cash and cheque collections.
- Collect receipts and obtain signatures from payees for issued cheques.
Documentation and Record Keeping
- Maintain proper filing systems for:
- Cash Receipt Vouchers
- Cheque Payment Vouchers
- Journal Vouchers
- Handover filed payment documents to the Accounts Payable recording team.
- Assist external auditors by providing required documentation.
Additional Duties
- Perform other accounting and finance-related duties assigned by the supervisor.
