About Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC)
The Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is a national institution dedicated to promoting and protecting human rights. EHRC upholds a zero-tolerance policy on sexual harassment and child safeguarding violations and is committed to providing a safe and inclusive work environment. The Commission’s work includes research, advocacy, media engagement, and public campaigns to advance human rights throughout Ethiopia.
Position 1: Human Rights Officer, Research, Campaign and Advocacy
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research, advocacy, and campaign activities in line with EHRC’s mandate.
- Translate human rights materials and media content between Amharic, Tigrigna, Afan Oromo, Somali, and English.
- Support preparation of press materials, media relations, interviews, and events.
- Monitor and analyze media coverage related to EHRC’s work.
Qualifications & Experience
- LLB/LLM in Law, Human Rights Law, or International Law.
- 4 years of relevant experience for LLB holders; 2 years for LLM holders.
- Computer literacy required.
- Knowledge of Amharic required; other local languages are an advantage.
Salary & Benefits:
- Gross monthly salary: ETB 20,400 – 23,683
- Housing allowance: ETB 8,640
- Transport allowance: ETB 3,300
Location: Addis Ababa, Head Office
Position 2: Partnership Coordinator
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and strengthen EHRC’s partnerships and stakeholder engagement.
- Support fundraising, networking, and program collaboration with national and international partners.
- Facilitate joint initiatives, representation, and reporting.
Qualifications & Experience
- LLB/LLM in Law, Human Rights Law, International Law, Political Science, or International Relations.
- 8 years of relevant experience for LLB/BA holders; 6 years for LLM/MA holders.
- Computer literate.
- Knowledge of Amharic and English required; other local languages are advantageous.
Salary & Benefits:
- Gross monthly salary: ETB 25,756 – 30,676
- Housing allowance: ETB 12,000
- Transport allowance: ETB 3,300
- Representation allowance: ETB 1,800
