JOB POSITION & REQUIREMENTS

Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is looking for qualified candidates to fill the following position.EHRC is committed to protecting all children from all forms of harm and to creating a safe and welcoming work environment. EHRC has zero-tolerance approach on sexual harassment  and any harm against children. Hence, EHRC will only hire candidates whose  background and behavior is aligned with anti-sexual harassment and child safeguarding principles.

Position 1: Human Rights Officer, Transitional Justice

Qualifications and Experience:

  • LLM/LLB degree in law, Human Rights Law, International Law, transitional justice, conflict studies, peace and security, humanitarian law, or other related fields.
  • 4 years of relevant experience for LLB and 2 years of relevant experience for LLM.
  • Experiences directly related to human rights and/or transitional Justice
  • Computer literate
  • Knowledge of Amharic and English is required. Knowledge of other local languages is advantageous.

Location: Head Office, Addis Ababa

Position 2: Senior Human Rights Officer, Transitional Justice

Qualifications and Experience:

  • LLM/MA in Human Rights, International Law, and other Public Laws relevant to human rights, transitional justice, conflict studies, peace and security, humanitarian law, or other related fields.
  • Strong technical understanding of international human rights and/or humanitarian law principles;
  • Candidates with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) but with exceptional experience can be considered.
  • 5 years of relevant experience for LLM holders.
  • Experiences directly related to human rights and transitional justice
  • Computer literate
  • Knowledge of Amharic and English is required. Knowledge of other local languages is advantageous.

Location: Head Office, Addis Ababa
