About Ethiopian Human Rights Commission
The Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is an independent national human rights institution mandated to promote and protect human rights in Ethiopia. EHRC is committed to safeguarding children and creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful working environment.

Position 1: Human Rights Officer – Transitional Justice
Job Overview
The Human Rights Officer will support transitional justice initiatives through research, documentation, analysis, and reporting on human rights violations and accountability processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- LLM or LLB in Law, Human Rights Law, International Law, Transitional Justice, Conflict Studies, Peace and Security, Humanitarian Law, or related fields
- Four (4) years of relevant experience for LLB holders
- Two (2) years of relevant experience for LLM holders
- Computer literacy required
- Knowledge of Amharic required; other local languages are an advantage
Location: Hossaena
Position 2: IT Operations and Cloud System Engineer
Job Overview
The IT Operations and Cloud System Engineer will manage and support EHRC’s IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, and enterprise systems to ensure secure and reliable operations.
Qualifications & Experience
- BSc Degree in Information Technology or related fields
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, or cloud engineering
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, AWS, and GCP
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems
- Understanding of network, storage, server, and application technologies
Location: Addis Ababa
Position 3: Human Rights Education Officer
Job Overview
The Human Rights Education Officer will design, implement, and evaluate human rights education programs and training materials to enhance awareness and institutional capacity.
Qualifications & Experience
- MA or LLM in Human Rights Law, International Law, Public Law, Peace and Security, or related fields
- Exceptional LLB holders may be considered
- Four (4) years of relevant experience for LLB holders
- Two (2) years of relevant experience for MA/LLM holders
- Strong research, writing, instructional design, and communication skills
- Computer literacy required
- Knowledge of Amharic required; other local languages are an advantage

Position 4: Senior Human Rights Officer – Transitional Justice
Job Overview
The Senior Human Rights Officer will lead and provide technical expertise on transitional justice initiatives, human rights investigations, and accountability mechanisms.
Qualifications & Experience
- LLM or MA in Human Rights, International Law, or related public law fields
- Exceptional LLB holders may be considered
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience
- Strong technical knowledge of international human rights and humanitarian law
- Computer literacy required
- Knowledge of Amharic and English required; other local languages are an advantage

Position 5: Technical Cloud Support Engineer
Job Overview
The Technical Cloud Support Engineer will provide user support, troubleshoot cloud-based systems, and ensure efficient IT service delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
- BSc Degree in Information Technology or related fields
- Four (4) years of experience in technical support, cloud administration, or IT operations
- Experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
- Customer-facing troubleshooting experience
- Computer literacy required
- Knowledge of Amharic required; other local languages are an advantage

Position 6: Cloud Systems Administrator / MS365 Administrator
Job Overview
The Cloud Systems Administrator will manage EHRC’s cloud infrastructure and Microsoft 365 environment to ensure security, performance, and system availability.
Qualifications & Experience
- BSc Degree in Information Technology or related fields
- Four (4) years of experience in cloud systems administration
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, AWS, and GCP
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems
- Understanding of network, storage, and server technologies
- Computer literacy required
- Knowledge of Amharic required; other local languages are an advantage

Position 7: Network and Cloud Security Engineer
Job Overview
The Network and Cloud Security Engineer will design, implement, and monitor security controls to protect EHRC’s hybrid IT infrastructure.
Qualifications & Experience
- BSc Degree in Information Technology or related fields
- Four (4) years of experience in network security, cloud security, or cybersecurity
- Proven experience securing hybrid (on-premises and cloud) environments
- Experience in enterprise IT environments
- Computer literacy required
- Knowledge of Amharic required; other local languages are an advantage

Position 8: Senior Project Accountant / Finance Officer
Job Overview
The Senior Project Accountant will manage project finances, donor reporting, and financial compliance in line with national and international standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- BA Degree in Accounting and Finance
- Six (6) years of relevant work experience
- Strong knowledge of IFMIS and IFRS
- Experience working with donors; EU project experience is an advantage
- Computer literacy required
- Knowledge of Amharic required; other local languages are an advantage
