It operates the Ethiopian Economic Policy Research Institute (EEPRI), which conducts cutting-edge policy research and delivers training programs critical to Ethiopia’s economic development. The Association remains a key player in shaping the country’s economic discourse through its annual conferences, publications, and research activities.
Position Summary
EEA is seeking a qualified Cashier/Storekeeper to manage petty cash and inventory in accordance with established policies and financial procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting, inventory control, and data recording skills to support the association’s finance and logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
Cashier Duties
- Manage petty cash withdrawals, disbursements, and deposits.
- Issue receipts for all collections including membership fees.
- Ensure daily cash collections are deposited into the bank.
- Prepare and process payments based on approved vouchers.
- Maintain accurate records of cash inflow and outflow.
- Safeguard cash and secure access codes.
Storekeeping Duties
- Receive and verify incoming goods against purchase orders.
- Store, label, and manage inventory in designated locations.
- Issue supplies from the store as per requisition and guidelines.
- Conduct regular stock counts and update inventory records.
- Monitor stock levels and alert supervisors of stock-outs.
- Maintain and archive all relevant financial and inventory documents.
- Assist with annual inventory audits and reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Education:
- Diploma in Accounting with 4 years of relevant experience
- OR
- BA Degree in Accounting or related fields with 2 years of relevant experience
- Experience:
- Proven experience in cash handling, inventory management, and financial documentation
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
- Core Competencies:
- High ethical standards and behavioral integrity
- Strong attention to detail
- Organizational and time management skills
- Record-keeping and document handling
