The Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA) was established under Capital Market Proclamation No. 1248/2021 as an autonomous federal regulatory authority. ECMA’s core mandate is to ensure the existence of a capital market environment where securities are issued and traded in an orderly, fair, and efficient manner.
As the national regulator, ECMA licenses and oversees entities operating as:
- Securities and derivatives exchanges
- Securities depositories and clearing companies
- Capital market service providers
- Over-the-counter trading facilities
- Other regulated capital market activities
ECMA plays a critical role in building a transparent, credible, and well-functioning capital market in Ethiopia.
Position: Documentation and Inventory Officer
Position Purpose
The Documentation and Inventory Officer is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, issuance, and documentation of materials, consumables, and fixed assets at the Authority’s central store. The role ensures accurate record-keeping, effective stock control, proper storage conditions, and timely reporting in accordance with ECMA’s Property Administration Manual.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect goods against purchase orders, suppliers’ invoices, and packing lists
- Verify quantity, quality, and condition of received items
- Issue materials, consumables, and fixed assets to requesting departments based on authorized Store Requisition Forms
- Safely store and safeguard all materials, spare parts, consumables, and fixed assets
- Ensure store security against theft, damage, deterioration, moisture, fire, and other hazards
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper storage conditions in the store
- Prepare and process store and asset documentation including:
- GRN (Goods Receiving Note)
- FARN (Fixed Asset Receiving Note)
- RMRN, SIV, FAIV, and RMTN
- Maintain and regularly update bin cards and stock records
- Properly file all store-related documents such as issue vouchers, receiving vouchers, and delivery notes
- Label, classify, and arrange materials systematically on shelves and racks
- Assist in setting and monitoring minimum and maximum stock levels
- Conduct periodic stock checks and support annual stock and fixed asset inventory counts
- Prepare and submit periodic inventory and store reports
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor
Qualification Requirements
- Diploma or TVET Level IV in Accounting, Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related fields
- Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in storekeeping, logistics, or supply chain management
- No prior management experience required
