ABOUT THE AUTHORITY
The Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA) is a federal regulatory body established under Proclamation No. 1248/2021, mandated to oversee and promote the development of Ethiopia’s capital markets. ECMA works to build a fair, efficient, and transparent environment that enables the growth of securities issuance, trading, and regulatory innovation.
This internship program is designed for recent graduates eager to apply academic learning in practical regulatory, financial, and policy-based settings related to capital markets and economic research.
WHO CAN APPLY
- Recent graduates with a BA in Economics, Accounting, or Finance
- Must reside in Addis Ababa during the internship
- Must be available for a minimum of 35 hours/week
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- CGPA of 3.25 or above
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Interest in capital markets, investment, or financial systems
- Basic proficiency in MS Word, Excel, email, and internet tools
- Strong analytical and writing ability
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Interns will support the ECMA research and policy team across the following activities:
- Data collection through interviews, surveys, and observation
- Market analysis, trend identification, and document review
- Preparation of regulatory and research reports
- Assisting in administrative and technical support to ECMA departments:
- Regulatory Policy Development
- Market Development & Capacity Building
- Supervision & Oversight
- Licensing & Registration
- Investigation & Enforcement
