Position: Intern – Digital Communications
The World Food Programme is inviting students and fresh graduates to apply for the Digital Communications Internship. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in communication, media, and digital content creation within a global humanitarian organization.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet one of the following:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program (at least 2 years completed)
- Currently enrolled in a graduate program (Master’s degree)
- Recent graduate (within 6 months) in:
- Communications
- Journalism
- Or related fields
Additional requirements:
- Must have attended classes in the last 12 months
- Fluency in English and Amharic (written and spoken)
- Must be available to work at the duty station
- Must not be an immediate family member of WFP employees
- Academic credentials must be from recognized institutions (e.g., UNESCO or Ministry of Education accredited)
Required Competencies
- Proficiency in digital and creative tools:
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
- After Effects, Lightroom
- Canva
- MS Office
- Strong portfolio demonstrating creative and digital communication skills
- Understanding of WFP communication strategies and socio-political context
- Ability to work independently and in a diverse team
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Flexibility to take on varied assignments
Language Requirements
- Fluency in English and Amharic (oral and written)
