Educational Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a BA degree in Accounting and Finance or a related field of study.
- Be a graduate of 2017 E.C. or 2018 E.C.
- Have a cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 3.00 or above.
Work Experience
- Previous work experience is not required.
- Experience working as a cashier is an advantage.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong understanding of internal control systems and procedures.
- Computer proficiency, with advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in both Amharic and English.
Job Purpose and Responsibilities
The Cashier will be responsible for managing the company’s cash transactions and ensuring the accurate handling and recording of cash and other financial instruments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Disbursing cash to authorized parties after verifying the required payment approvals.
- Collecting cash and cash equivalents.
- Cashing cheques and withdrawing money from banks for authorized payments.
- Disbursing funds for approved company expenses.
- Reconciling physical cash balances with recorded amounts.
- Organizing banknotes, denominations, and other negotiable instruments to minimize errors and facilitate payments.
- Following established internal control procedures when handling company funds.
