Position Summary: Country Lead – Tax
This is a senior leadership role reporting to the Finance Director. The position is responsible for overseeing all tax-related functions, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and aligning tax processes with financial reporting standards such as IFRS.
Qualifications
Education & Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Master’s degree is an advantage
- Professional certifications such as CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent required
- Additional tax qualification (HDip in Taxation or similar) is advantageous
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in tax or financial accounting
- At least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role
- Experience in FMCG or multinational companies preferred
- Strong knowledge of local tax laws and IFRS

Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Expertise in corporate tax, VAT, and withholding tax
Financial Integration
- Align tax processes with IFRS-based financial reporting
Analytical & Risk Management
- Analyze tax data and identify compliance risks
Governance & Control
- Maintain proper documentation and ensure policy compliance
Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Explain tax matters clearly to non-tax stakeholders
- Build relationships with tax authorities and auditors
