About Centre for Justice (CJ)
Centre for Justice (CJ) is one of Ethiopia’s leading independent civil society organizations working to bring systemic and service-level reform to the Ethiopian Criminal Justice System. The organization was founded by individuals motivated to improve the conditions they experienced during incarceration.
CJ combines practical interventions with advocacy initiatives to improve the overall criminal justice system and the living conditions of inmates in Ethiopia. The organization is committed to promoting, protecting, and realizing human rights through national-level and prison-level interventions focused on dignity, accountability, and justice.
Over the next four years, CJ’s work is guided by pillars that place humane treatment, dignity, and respect for the fundamental rights of all detainees at the center of prison and penal reform.
