ECX invites motivated and qualified professionals to apply for the following vacant positions.
Position 1: Application Developer
Qualification Requirements
- MSc or BSc Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields
- Minimum of 2 years (for BSc) or 4 years (for MSc) of relevant work experience
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new applications and maintain existing enterprise applications
- Ensure efficient, high-performance, and high-availability web-based software solutions
- Develop React / Next.js applications with AWS deployment (web and admin dashboards)
- Develop Flutter mobile applications with AWS deployment for cross-platform apps (Android & iOS)
- Refine and analyze user requirements from business stakeholders
- Design business and system applications
- Develop application logic using appropriate programming languages
- Conduct unit testing and application debugging
- Provide ongoing application support and maintenance
- Fix application bugs and enhance system performance
- Produce high-quality deliverables in line with project requirements
- Strictly follow software development life cycle (SDLC) processes
- Communicate task progress, risks, and issues proactively
- Stay informed about ECX business operations and systems
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Location
- Addis Ababa
Position 2: Senior Database Administrator
Qualification Requirements
- MSc or BSc Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related fields
- Minimum of 4 years (for BSc) or 6 years (for MSc) of relevant work experience
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, develop, maintain, and secure ECX enterprise database platforms
- Ensure database integrity, security, and uptime in line with service level agreements (SLAs)
- Establish and implement backup and restore policies and procedures
- Perform database capacity planning, tuning, and table maintenance
- Create, modify, and manage database objects
- Implement effective data replication techniques where applicable
- Work closely with programmers and IT staff to enforce database standards and policies
- Monitor and ensure optimal database performance and availability
- Apply industry best practices in database administration
- Serve as a subject matter expert in database technologies
- Stay updated on emerging database tools and technologies
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor
