This is a fully funded scholarship offered by the Brunei Government for international students seeking to study in Brunei. The program covers tuition, living expenses, accommodation, travel, and health insurance.

Scholarship Benefits

• Full exemption from tuition fees, including acceptance, examination, registration, and orientation fees
• Economy-class air ticket to Brunei before the start of the program and return ticket upon completion
• Monthly personal allowance: BND $500
• Monthly meal allowance: BND $150
• Annual book allowance: BND $600
• Accommodation at the university or polytechnic residential college
• Baggage allowance upon completion: BND $250 (ASEAN countries) / BND $500 (non-ASEAN)
• Comprehensive health insurance for the duration of the scholarship

Eligibility Criteria

• Age Limit (as of 1 July 2026):
  • Diploma & Undergraduate: ≤ 25 years
  • Master’s: ≤ 35 years
• Must demonstrate English proficiency:
  • GCE O-Level English Credit 6, or
  • IGCSE English Grade C (Second Language), or
  • TOEFL ≥ 550, or
  • IELTS ≥ 6.0
• Scholarship is for first-time international students in Brunei
• Permanent residents of Brunei are not eligible

How to Apply

Apply online via the BDGS system portal.

1. Complete the application form with personal details, academic background, and language proficiency.
2. Select first and second choice programs and institutions.
3. Upload all supporting documents online in PDF, Word, or JPG format.
4. Applicants to UBD must also complete a separate UBD online application.
5. Applicants to UNISSA, UTB, KUPU SB, Politeknik Brunei must apply through their respective university portals.
6. Interviews or language tests may be requested by institutions.

• English language proficiency certificate (if applicable)
• Academic qualifications and transcripts
• Proof of employment (if applicable)
• Research proposal (for research-based programs)
