The Embassy plays a key role in fostering the longstanding bilateral relationship between the UK and Ethiopia, delivering high-impact diplomatic, development, and cultural initiatives.
We are seeking an experienced, driven, and creative professional to join our integrated team, supporting finance, HR, and diplomatic communications across the mission.
Role Overview
The Finance & HR Officer (HEO BOS) will be at the heart of diplomatic communications and operational management. The successful candidate will support ministerial visits, develop multimedia content, implement campaigns, and communicate the UK’s priorities in Ethiopia. This role requires flexibility, strategic thinking, and proficiency in both finance and human resources disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee financial and HR operations within the Embassy
- Support organisational reporting, budget tracking, and HR processes
- Contribute to diplomatic communications, ministerial visit support, and campaign delivery
- Ensure compliance with international standards and local regulations
- Lead process improvement initiatives and promote best practices in finance and HR
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- University Degree in Finance, Human Resource Management, Business Management, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years managerial experience in finance or HR in international organizations, embassies, or the private sector
- Strong understanding of finance and HR management practices
- Demonstrated ability to develop proficiency in the complementary discipline (Finance or HR)
Desirable:
- Experience working across Finance and People/Corporate roles
- Excellent knowledge of finance and HR information systems and tools
- Leadership skills with resilience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Knowledge of Sudan and Sudanese banking or HR regulations (advantageous)
Salary & Benefits
- Base Salary: 1,439.40 (subject to tax and statutory deductions)
- Additional benefits and allowances as per UK Government policy
