Bilal Microfinance Institution S.C. is a fully-fledged interest-free microfinance institution established under National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) Directive No. MFI/32/2021. The institution provides Sharia-compliant financial services designed to expand access to affordable and inclusive financing for individuals and businesses excluded from conventional interest-based financial services.

Position 1: Branch Accountant

Educational Qualification

Applicants must have one of the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Accounting & Finance, or a related field.
• College Diploma (Level IV/10+3) in Accounting or a related field.

Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree holders: No work experience required.
• Diploma holders: Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in a Microfinance Institution (MFI) is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records and financial transactions.
• Prepare financial reports and account reconciliations.
• Process payments and receipts according to institutional policies.
• Ensure compliance with financial procedures and internal controls.
• Support branch financial operations and maintain proper documentation.

Required Skills

• Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Computer application proficiency.
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Position 2: Customer Relationship Officer (CRO)

Educational Qualification

Applicants must possess one of the following:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Banking & Finance, Management, or a related field.
• College Diploma (Level V/10+3) in Accounting, Banking & Finance, Management, or a related field.

Experience

• Previous experience in a Microfinance Institution (MFI) or the banking industry is an advantage.

Required Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic knowledge of credit operations and customer service.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
• High integrity, teamwork, and the ability to work under pressure.

Position 3: Branch Manager

Educational Qualification

• BA Degree or MBA in:
  • Management
  • Accounting
  • Banking & Finance
  • Related fields

Experience

• BA Degree holders: Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience.
• MBA holders: Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in Microfinance, Banking, or the Insurance sector is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and supervise overall branch operations.
• Lead loan processing, portfolio management, and savings mobilization activities.
• Ensure achievement of branch business targets and operational efficiency.
• Approve loans and payments within delegated authority.
• Monitor loan disbursement, repayment, and portfolio quality.
• Supervise daily financial transactions and cash management.
• Prepare operational and financial reports.
• Build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with institutional policies and National Bank of Ethiopia regulations.
• Coach, supervise, and evaluate branch staff.

Required Skills

• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent customer relationship and communication abilities.
• Sound knowledge of branch operations, credit management, and savings mobilization.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Experience with Core Banking Systems and Microsoft Office applications is an advantage.
• High integrity and accountability.
• Knowledge of interest-free (Sharia-compliant) financing products and principles.
