Awash Capital S.C. invites qualified finance and accounting professionals to apply for the position of Senior Finance Officer.

Awash Capital S.C. is a licensed investment bank operating within Ethiopia’s capital market and a trading member of the Ethiopian Securities Exchange (ESX). The company provides investment banking and financial advisory services within Ethiopia’s regulated financial sector.
Position: Senior Finance Officer
The Senior Finance Officer will oversee financial reporting, accounting, taxation, regulatory reporting, budgeting, financial analysis, and financial controls in accordance with IFRS and applicable regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with IFRS.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure timely financial closing.
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports to ECMA, ESX, and CSD.
- Handle VAT, withholding, income, payroll, and other tax filings.
- Manage cash flow, bank reconciliations, and client fund segregation.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Coordinate internal and external audits.
- Support accounting for investment banking and advisory fees.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- MSc/MBA is preferred.
- ACCA, CPA, or active AABE registration is strongly preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in a senior finance or accounting role.
- Experience in financial services or a regulated financial institution is preferred.
Skills and Technical Competencies
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and Ethiopian tax regulations.
- Peachtree/Sage proficiency is mandatory.
- Strong Excel skills; ERP experience is an advantage.
- Understanding of investment banking, asset management, and financial markets.
- Strong financial analysis and modeling skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and highly regulated environment.
