Awach Saving and Credit Cooperative (Awach SACCO) is a member-based financial institution established on 13/07/1999 E.C. in Arada Sub-city. As a leading cooperative in Ethiopia’s microfinance sector, Awach is committed to empowering communities through accessible savings and credit services. The SACCO is currently offering a volunteer internship opportunity designed to help fresh graduates gain real-world experience in IT operations across its branches in Addis Ababa and regional offices.
Internship Summary
Awach SACCO is looking for 20 enthusiastic IT Interns to support its operations for a period of 2–3 months. This internship is ideal for fresh graduates seeking to develop practical technical skills in a microfinance environment. Exceptional performers may be considered for future employment opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day technical support for hardware, software, and network systems.
- Troubleshoot IT issues faced by staff at branch and head office levels.
- Assist in system installation, updates, and maintenance tasks.
- Support database management activities while ensuring data security.
- Help document IT infrastructure, system configurations, and inventories.
- Provide first-level support for digital banking platforms and mobile services.
- Collaborate with IT teams and various departments to maintain operational continuity.
- Attend training sessions to build technical and interpersonal skills.
- Carry out additional tech-related tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Software Engineering.
- CGPA: Minimum of 3.5
- Exit Exam: Strong results required.
- Experience: Not required (0 years).
- Strong desire to learn and contribute.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Internship Compensation & Details
- Duration: 2–3 months (Volunteer Internship)
- Allowance: 2,100 ETB monthly transport allowance
- Openings: 20 positions
- Gender: Open to all qualified candidates
- Workplace: Addis Ababa (various branches)
