Position: Attorney – Legal Support for Branch Operations
Are you a passionate legal professional ready to support Ethiopia’s grassroots financial services? VisionFund is hiring an Attorney to provide legal counsel, manage collateral documentation, and oversee regulatory compliance for its Sendafa Branch.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist branch staff in handling all legal matters related to collateral management and mortgage documentation
- Ensure safe custody of real estate and chattel mortgage legal documents
- Draft and review contracts, agreements, guarantees, and other legal instruments
- Support in the registration and discharge of mortgaged items
- Analyze court rulings and judgments to guide business operations
- Conduct legal investigations into fraud, misappropriation, and document forgeries
- Ensure timely delivery of legal notices to delinquent clients
- Prepare legal claims and investigative reports, and liaise with courts or enforcement bodies as required
Qualification & Experience Requirements:
- Minimum Diploma in Law
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in legal services
- Familiarity with Ethiopian civil and commercial codes
- Strong analytical and case investigation skills
- Local language proficiency, communication skills, and basic computer literacy are advantageous
