Position: Associate Equity Trader
As an Associate Equity Trader, you’ll support clients in buying and selling securities, stay updated on market movements, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide high-touch service. You’ll also collaborate with senior traders and contribute to developing Ethiopia’s capital market ecosystem.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- CISI Level 3 (Introduction to Investment) certification.
- Understanding of Ethiopia’s financial markets, investment principles, and trading products.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and customer service skills.
- High attention to detail, adaptability, and ability to work under pressure.
- Readiness to pass relevant licensing exams.
- Demonstrated ethics, motivation, and accountability in previous roles.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Trading & Market Operations
- Assist clients in buying/selling securities in local and global markets.
- Track market trends, economic data, and financial news.
- Escalate and resolve trade disputes and client concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions and market activities.
2. Risk & Compliance
- Ensure all activity complies with Capital Market Proclamation No. 1248-2021, ECMA, and ESX regulations.
- Follow internal risk controls to prevent losses and uphold integrity.
3. Client Onboarding & Support
- Support KYC, AML, and CFT processes for new accounts.
- Address client issues and ensure satisfaction in line with global service standards.
4. Team Collaboration & Leadership
- Support senior traders with administrative and strategic duties.
- Contribute to the development of systems, policies, and procedures.
- Promote a performance-driven, ethical culture.
