Position: Operations Analyst – IFC Ethiopia Country Office
IFC Ethiopia is seeking a highly motivated Operations Analyst to support its Ethiopia Cluster teams (Ethiopia, Malawi, and Zambia). The successful candidate will contribute to program management, business development, research, and business intelligence to advance private sector growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, coordination, and monitoring of IFC programs and country strategies
- Conduct market research, data analysis, and sectoral assessments
- Prepare analytical reports, presentations, and decision briefs
- Contribute to business development efforts and pipeline identification
- Assist in portfolio tracking, performance monitoring, and results measurement
- Coordinate with teams across the Ethiopia Cluster and support regional report consolidation
- Provide operational and administrative support to the Country Manager and technical teams
Selection Criteria
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Management, or related fields
- Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience in Ethiopia, ideally within:
- Private sector organizations
- Financial institutions
- Donor or development agencies
- Development finance institutions
- Consultancy firms
- Strong background in market research, surveys, business development, and data analysis
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of Ethiopia’s economic, social, and political landscape
- Advanced proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
- Strong writing, reporting, and communication skills
- Ability to analyze large data sets and translate findings into actionable insights
- High attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong command of English (written and spoken); proficiency in additional Ethiopian languages is desirable
- Familiarity with research tools such as Factiva, IBM databases, MIX, Bloomberg, EIU, advanced Google research, and World Bank Group databases

Reports directly to the IFC Country Manager.
