The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) is one of the five regional commissions of the United Nations, working to promote inclusive and sustainable economic and social development in Africa.

Qualifications / Special Skills
To qualify for an internship under the United Nations Internship Programme, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Education:
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate program (Master’s/PhD), or
- Be in the final year of a first university degree program (Bachelor’s or equivalent).
- Field of study must be closely related to the internship area.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in standard software applications (MS Office).
- Knowledge of data analysis and econometrics is required.
- Commitment:
- Strong interest in the work and principles of the United Nations.
- Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and the ideals of the UN Charter.
- Cultural Competence:
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and demonstrate tolerance and respect for differing opinions and beliefs.
