Internship Summary

The Disability Inclusion Intern will support UNFPA Ethiopia’s country program to ensure disability inclusion across program design, implementation, and monitoring efforts. This is a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in inclusive development, UN programmatic work, and international standards related to human rights and disability rights.

Responsibilities

As a Disability Inclusion Intern, you will:

  • Support disability audits and accessibility assessments of UNFPA service outlets and offices
  • Assist in developing and implementing UNFPA Ethiopia’s Disability Inclusion Capacity Building package
  • Work with the communications team to ensure advocacy materials are accessible and inclusive
  • Contribute to coordination efforts such as LNOB (Leave No One Behind) meetings and related platforms
  • Support administrative and operational tasks as required

Qualifications

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program
  • Demonstrate interest in development, disability inclusion, or related fields
  • Have excellent written and spoken English
  • Be able to adapt to diverse work environments and collaborate across cultures

Preferred:

  • Prior volunteer or internship experience in development or humanitarian work
  • Strong research, analytical, and writing skills
  • Knowledge of additional UN languages is an asset
