About UNESCO China Fellowship 2026
The UNESCO China Fellowship 2026 is a fully funded scholarship program aimed at supporting talented international students and researchers from Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Europe, and the Arab world. The fellowship allows recipients to pursue advanced studies, research, or a master’s/doctoral degree at a Chinese university under designated supervisors.
This program is co-sponsored by UNESCO and the Chinese government to advance human resource development, strengthen international exchanges in education, culture, science, and technology, and promote global cooperation.
A total of 27 fellowships are available for the 2026 academic period, which begins in September 2026.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must belong to Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Europe, or the Arab States
- Master’s candidates: under 35 years old with a bachelor’s degree
- PhD candidates: under 40 years old with a master’s degree
- Senior scholarships: under 50 years old with a master’s degree or equivalent
- General scholarships: under 45 years old with a high school diploma
- Proficiency in English is required
- Only newly admitted students or researchers can apply
