Internship Summary
UNDP Ethiopia is seeking fresh graduates and postgraduate students to join its team as Communication Interns. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in international development communications within the UN system. Successful candidates will work closely with the communications team to support strategic messaging, content creation, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in drafting and editing press releases, blogs, social media posts, and newsletters
- Support multimedia content creation including graphics, infographics, and short videos
- Contribute to the development of communication strategies and outreach campaigns
- Monitor and summarize media coverage relevant to UNDP’s focus areas
- Maintain and update website and social media platforms
- Assist in organizing events, campaigns, and documentation of project activities
- Provide general administrative and logistical support to the Communications Unit
Education & Eligibility
Applicants must meet one of the following:
- Be currently enrolled in a postgraduate program (Master’s or higher) in communication, journalism, international relations, or a related field
- OR have recently graduated with a first-level university degree in a relevant discipline
- Be available for a full-time, 6-month internship
- Demonstrated interest in communication, media, or international development
Language Requirements
- Fluency in English and Amharic (both written and spoken) is required
- Knowledge of another UN language is an advantage
