About SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia

SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia is a member of the international SOS Children’s Villages Federation and has been working in Ethiopia since 1974. The organization is committed to improving the lives of vulnerable children and young people, especially care leavers, through integrated family-like care, education, and youth empowerment programs.

As part of its commitment to sustainable youth development, SOS is implementing the “Leave No Youth Behind” project, which aims to directly support 1,400 young care leavers and reach up to 2.8 million through broader advocacy and empowerment initiatives.

About the Role

We are looking for a Youth Empowerment Internship to contribute actively to the delivery and coordination of project activities under the “Leave No Youth Behind” initiative. The intern will support strategic youth development programs, coordinate with stakeholders, and help build meaningful change in the lives of care leavers in Ethiopia.

Required Qualifications

  • Educational background in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Political Science, Law, or related disciplines
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated (within 2 years) from a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program
  • Strong command of Amharic and English (both written and oral)

Functional Competencies

  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt in dynamic environments
  • Strong attention to detail and multitasking ability
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter with problem-solving attitude
  • Passionate about the CSO sector, youth development, gender equity, and child rights
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
